Girls' Night in Montreal!

Hi all

A detailed description of my first 4 weeks in Montreal will follow shortly, seeing as I'm supposed to do school work at the moment. So, I'll leave you with some pictures!

An old Montreal church

One of the many old churches in Montreal. This is the church we can see from our apartment.

My room

I live in a university residence called Solin Hall, which is located 4 metro stations away from campus. It's nice having space between school and 'home', and it's nice being outside the downtown area. I share an apartment with 3 other girls, but have my own room (see above!). We share the kitchen (yes, we have to cook for ourselves), the living room, and two bathrooms (only one of which has a toilet).

My room mates!

My room mates: (L to R) Karine, Alexa and Marilou. Karine and Marilou are both from Quebec, and Alexa is from Victoria, BC. We get along really well! This evening, we had a girls' night...

Girls' Night:

Pasta Dinner

We had a pasta dinner (Alexa made a delicious mushroom gravy!) together. This is the first time we've eaten together, and it was great! We're going to try to make this a once-a-week event.

Old Port of Montreal

After dinner, we spontaneously decided to go to the Old Port of Montreal (we live a 3 min walk away from a metro station where 2 metro lines cross each other. Convenient!) by metro, where we had a delicious Dairy Queen 'blizzard' by the water (see picture below). The Old Port is a beautiful part of the city, with lots of old buildings that fascinate me. :) (Of course, there are old buildings all over town - especially churches, but the Old Port is still special!).

Dairy Queen! :)

I hope we do this again sometime! :) It was incredibly fun!!
